Remedesivir Drug Shows'clear cut effect in treating coronavirus, says United States

Covid-19 patients who took the antiviral Remedesivir recovered about 30% or 31% faster than those on Placebo. 

To cure from covid -19, for the first time this medication gave best results. This has been claimed by more than 220,000 lives globally. 

The U. S National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) ,which oversaw the trial said that"patients on the drug made by Gilead Sciences are recovering more faster than Placebo. Anthony Fauci who leads NIAID said in his statement that this remdesivir antiviral recovers 31% more faster than Placebo even this patients with Placebo get recovered within 15 days but patients with remdesivir get recovered in 11 days. Although from the reports it has been shown that this virus by 31% which is very less than 100%.
 The trial by NIAID began on February 21,2020 and evolved 1,063 people  across 68 locations in  U. S, Europe and Asia. 


The CEO of Gilead Sciences the US laboratory that manufacturered this remdesivir ,David O'Day said that the 1.5 million doses they have in stock which is enough to treat with minimum of 140,000 patients. 

President Donald Trump, who described the news as a positive event said he supported for the drug, which  would allow doctors to prescribe it more widely.news sites stat. 
This remdesivir was failed to treat Ebola before but now is showing best results than other medications. It mimics one of the four building blocks of RNA and DNA and gets absorbed into the virus's genome ,short-circuiting  its replication process. 

Apart from remdesivir, the antiviral drugs hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine are also being widely used against covid-19 on a so called compassionate bases:' pending results from large trials.
