Airtel Signs $1 billion deal with Nokia to enhance network capacity and this deal will lead to 5G network in future throughout the country
Nokia and Bharti Airtel on 28 April 2020 announced an agreement of $1 billion to deploy Nokia 's SRAN solution across nine circles of India .This deal will help Airtel to enhance the capacity and the speed of this network that will also improves customers experience .This will also provide 5G connectivity in future and approximately 300,000 radio units deployed across several spectrum bands including 900mhz, 1800Mhz, 2100Mhz and 2300Mhz. This is expected to completed by 2022.
With this ,Nokia will provide best platform to Airtel so that Airtel could launch 5G connectivity throughout the country with low latency and higher speed.
MD and CEO of Bharti Airtel "Gopal Vittal" said that they are working with Nokia for more than a decade now and are delightful to use Nokia SRAN's products in future improving the capacity.
Another side President of Chief Executive officer of Nokia "Rajeev Suri" said that this project will enhance their current network and deliever best-in-class connectivity to Airtel customers but also lay the foundation for 5G service in the future.
This deal also included Nokia's RAN equipment including its AirScale radio Access, AirScale BaseBand and NetAct OSS solution which will help Airtel to manage and Monitor its network.
